Meet Shanice Martin, our Performance Manager for the Department for Work and Pensions’ new Restart scheme, which offers tailored support to help unemployed people get back into work.
Shanice first joined Triage in 2012 as an administrator. She went on to become a work coach and then took on a lead consultant role, initially on the Work Programme contract, and then the Work and Health Programme. In 2020 Shanice became the quality and compliance manager for JETS (Job Entry Targeted Support) before being promoted to Performance Manager for Restart in June 2021.
“I am very excited about my new position within the Restart scheme,” says Shanice. “I am sure I can bring with me my experience and commitment to quality from my previous role as quality and compliance manager. In that role, I was responsible for the progression and performance of the caseloads, working closely with the operations manager to monitor the quality and performance of the programme. In addition, I liaised with the employment advisers to monitor the help provided while also supporting them to progress participants into training or employment.”
Shanice also analysed local recruitment trends to help identify any potential training requirements that could boost our participants’ chances of success.
“Most of my duties as performance manager for Restart will involve similar activities,” says Shanice. “Restart is a new scheme from DWP aimed at people who lost their jobs during the Covid outbreak. As well as line managing the Restart team, I will be monitoring its performance and reporting results to the Operations Manager.”
Shanice also liaises with colleagues working on other contracts within Triage, discussing business development and engagement opportunities to offer support and share best practices. In addition to this, she is responsible for our social media in the Tees Valley area.
