When Liam was first referred to Triage central from his claiming Jobcentre Plus, he was shy and had very little knowledge of developing his own employer CV and interview skills.
Liam took part in PDES Personal development and employability skills course in our centre in Middlesbrough with our skills trainer Jenny, who has commented how polite and enthusiastic Liam was throughout his time completing the course.
The training covered personal appearance, different interview styles, CV introduction along with completing a recognized qualification in customer service. Liam’s employment advisor Will Purvis who completed an extensive job search during appointments, reported: ‘It was great to see how in such a short space of time someone’s personal development and confidence has grown at their time with Triage’.
We collectively applied for two of our recruitment roles B&M and Tesco. Liam completed an application for Tesco at Coulby Newham and was then invited for an interview. During an appointment, we completed interview preparation and did a mock interview with potential questions. Triage funded all travel for Liam’s appointments and his arranged interview, this was Liam’s first-ever face-to-face interview so he was feeling very nervous but he applied all the skills and development learned during his time with Triage and was successful with his interview. Following this, in-work support calls have been completed with our advisor and Liam is enjoying his employment and has picked up extra shifts. When asked about his experience with Triage he said: ’I would recommend Triage to anyone who is in need of work’.
